Whenever I try to load a custom alpha or texture I get this error, “Error encountered while loading a file”. I’ve tried multiple ways, I’ve gone through the lightbox and through the texture and alpha palettes, but I get the same error. Is there something I’m missing?
Do you have ZBrush 4R4 P2? What format file are you trying to import?
I have 4r4, I heard that p2 introduced more bugs, so I’d rather not upgrade if possible. I figured out a way to get textures in, I was using .jpeg instead of .jpg; I still can’t get .psd or .png to work though.
I use P2 and it loads psd files just fine up to very high resolution while other file formats if bigger then 2000pix (a side) show that error.
Even though they are included in the drop down list of file types, ZBrush doesn’t support .png files yet.
As to the alphas, what you can try is turning ‘PreLoad File Size’ slider to maximum in ‘Preferences > Performance’
