Tetsuo Shima
This project has been a long journey for me. I started it several years ago and kept coming back to it as my sculpting skills evolved. Along the way, I revisited many areas of the piece, explored different approaches, and used it as an opportunity to apply everything I was learning.
Tetsuo has always been one of my favorite characters. For this project, I wanted to create a collectible-style interpretation that felt slightly more realistic while still preserving the stylized aesthetic and spirit of the original design.
The mutated arm is my own interpretation of the character’s transformation. Rather than focusing only on the physical mutation, I wanted to reflect the internal suffering and loss of control that define this moment in his story.
This is probably the most ambitious sculpture I have completed so far, and finishing it feels like an important milestone in my artistic journey.
Thank you for taking the time to view my work. I hope you enjoy it.
