Test the Zbrush Skill Tools in Colorization & Painting:)

jantim, they are all great, but I like so many have certain tastes we enjoy more than others.

I agree with your view of 2D/3D images. One of my many beefs with 3D in general, as few people take it beyond the stiff plastic realm. Some do, and it is so wonderful.

Have you tried a 3d scene in Zbrush, 2d painted to enhance and 3d manipulated to be better? The possibilities for the future are coming into being.

My thread is eternal man!

Although this thread may catch up, with your help.

Because the 3d artists are abandoning their work once they have tamed their mesh and have finished playing/learning a particular plugin or technique. Look at me, learn from the worst! I am such a play kid. I feel I have to sit down and make something from start to end. From 3D to cool 2d Texture. And not a greeble 8-).

PS:Very inspiring Jantim!!!

I have great admiration for your thread Jason:+1: , but the Zsphere posing-rig will make all posing with Zspheres obsolete !!..and i think this year we will see the new ZBrush 2.5.
About repainting a 2,5 D scene ! …i have done some experiments , with "old"scene’s…and i’m not there yet ! Mytholon has made great renders that way, but he is very good in painting and drawing in the first place !
Getting a good ballance between 3D and 2D is not that easy as it seems !

jantim

Lemo…Even the great modellers who make a complete scene with models that look great on there own, produce mostly scene’s that are less impressive !
I has to do-i think- in the way of the composition , you can’t pose a model as smooth as you can draw a line, so the rhythm of the scene looks better in a drawing …and posing multiple models is even harder !

jantim

An interesting challenge might be to take a painting or photo with a modest amount of complexity and do it in 3d. Utilizing zbrush in some way of course, but not necessarily in any proscribed way. (Like Isle of the dead of course – which for some reason I always found a bit too initimidating, sorry Frenchy). Something to help develop a sense of composition and a vision or feel for something more artistic.

jantim my friend you are so missing zsphere’s and projecting desire onto version 2.5. You are mixing to different things together, but many people will find using other meshes easier with 2.5, just not if they want a master base. It all depends on intended use.

billrobertson42, that’s a heck of an idea. Get it rolling!

This thread has come up with some interesting ideas, great images, Cali my dear, you do force things to happen.

I think these little diversions are fantastic…they keep you interested. There’s not much 3D stuff I could do in 30 minutes and these are fun to do!
billrobertson’s 2D to 3D painting could be a great challenge. I did the “bride of Frankenstein” a while back ; quite a challenge in its self …Cali on!

Nice play on words Pride.

If there’s interest I will try to organize a challenge. In order to keep Frenchy’s thread on topic though, please PM me if you’re intrested.

Number 9 : Tamara de Lempika
Number 10 : Cocteau
Number 11 : David Hockney
Number 12 : Gauguin
Number 13 : Fujita
Number 14: Hergé
:+1:
And yes my little own record is now widely overpassed, next the 22

@Lemo & BillRobertson: Cali is a funny artist who loves to laught and make some facecious things!
So you can start a 3D thread about her, but it’s will be more difficult than a 2.5 D painting

@jason : don’t break the swing impetuous burst fervor elan of Jatim!

@pride : Hotel California from the Eagles ?

Ps @Billrobert

“Ilse of the dead” which for some reason I always found a bit too initimidating

You right it’s an historical and mythic paradigm but some different treatments can be made
See the marcel’s answer

Nice one, Pride :+1:
The Fujita and the Cocteau are only Jantims, Frenchie !..And the Hockney is supposed to be a Hopper, a least i was looking at the woman on his 1929:" Chop Suey"…but my brushwork stinks so your not to blame !

two for today…

are only Jantims

It was just some speedy reminiscence without any level of comparaison just for the fun
And without research for find the hypothetic possible start:)

Something curious : on quasi all your model there is “something” white light under the nose and vivid on the chin?
Commissure, reflects, snivel???, maybe a kleenex will be needing…

Number 15 : Boy George
Number 16 : Pompeï girl

Holy cow… HOW many variations are there??? It seems Jantim is tapping infinity painting powers :sunglasses:
Lemo

Inspiration:Power Ranger Cali!

HOW many variations are there???

For Jantim it’s easy and writed : actualy 16
His first goal overpass 22 and after only God know that

…Well its suposed to be some reflections…but your right, as a painting amateur
i fell in the trap of “formula” e.a. using the same effects, regardless of the light:o …i have to get used to the fact that the computer does not take care of shadows & reflections … but that i have to do that myself  !

As for how long i can go on…i think a loooong way…if you split it out in : painting style’s, ethnic style’s, clothing style’s, famous persons look-alike style’s, etc ,etc…but it should keep a certain “esprit” to be interesting so
i promise its not going to be eternal…Now, thats an idea : Cali as Edgar P. Jacobs female counterpart of Mortimer in his story of the "time-machine !! "
…you see, thats the way to do it …make connections !

jantim

Hi, this is my try, I done in about 20 min, maybe quite slow but is my first work of this kind.javi72.jpg
