Tell Zbrush to default directory on file imports?

Hi there,

Is there a way to tell Zbrush where to default directory location when opening and saving files?

I notice different applications all behave differently in this regard.
For example in Zbrush whenever I try to open or rather import a alpha or a texture or export a document they all go to Z import/export. No matter whether I use a different directory or not.

Whereas Photoshop will always go to the last directory used whether it is open or save.
Another program I have called Filter Forge will default to the directory last used separately for open and save which is especially useful for doing treatments on one set of files and saving to a different directory.

As I create many of my own alphas and textures I end up trying out large numbers of them to see how they react on different shapes and sculpts.
And since I have a large number of different directories for all my stuff when the import always defaults to the Zimport I end up spending too much time repetitively going back to the directory I need.

Is there a way to tell zbrush to default differently in this area?

There is a setting in the Preferences palette called “Use ZFolders”. It is on by default, which gives the behavior you see. Turning it off will change ZBrush to remember the last folder you accessed in the current session.

Excellent! Thank you very much Aurick.
