Tauren WIP

Well, Inspired by the elf and orc WIPs posted lately I felt they needed company. So hence I have started a Tauren WIP of my own. Plz C&C I am still very much new to ZBrush and this is only my second project.

I used a rough tauren model, exported from WoW Model Viewer, as my reference for building the zsphere body.

Mmmm…Its a good start actually, but the nail and the tail need to more reference i think. For the nail u need to rotate the zsphere facing down it would be necessary. And if you had a WoW manual book there is a blueprint of tauren but its really small, but you can use it as refernce for the proportion.

Ty for the tip about the Zsphere nails but sadly I didnt read it til a moment ago and now have done too much sculpting to go back to them and update it.

In the following update I ran into some issues with low poly on the face so I divided just the face which in practices sucked and hardly worked for me. but here it has turned out fine. In later subdivide I will probably hide the face as to not increase the poly count there too much for my computer.

Ok as for the update goes… I have been having a bit of trouble with the hands and hooves looking the way I would like it, will keep at it tho.

Here are the updated shots plz C&C.

Ok well I stated about how bad the hooves was… cant believe i had such a stupid moment and made the hooves cover the legs when the leg should cover the hoof. So was easy fix, just smooth it away and draw it right

looks like a great start, I once was addicted to warcraft! kicked the habbit now, i played a tauren. keep it comin!

This is a pretty good start. It’s sorta toony, so I don’t think any reason exists to really point out structure issues. Let’s see what you end up with.

Another Update. The tauren is now at 2.4 mil polys and I am unable to go higher due to computer power so the fine detail for hair all over his body will be done with the HD Divide and guess i will render him that way too :). But before I start on those fine details I will use topology to create him a tabard and some cloths… will post updates of his basic clothing design when i get it done. This model has been teaching me several things… I am continuously jumping back and forth between zbrush and online tutorials for doing things. Same will be done with the topo cloths. well plz C&C and wish me luck! lol

its nice…

but is the concept form warcraft…

Here is yet again another update. Yes this is based off and inspired from World of Warcraft. Hey maybe they will give me a job if I do good on this… nah they wouldnt hire a noob like me  lol

Anyways here I have started adding the clothing for him. He has Gloves, Bracers, shorts, and a guild tabard on. I will add in the hair for the top of his head and then begin detailing the clothing. The hair will be from a polysphere most likely (I like how Ryan K. does his model hair) <-- yes i dont remember how to spell his last name :frowning:

Ok well enjoy, plz C&C!!

Greetings… I don’t seem to be getting much C&C but I will keep at the udates and maybe when finished I get them lol. Well here on this update i have all his cloths and added his hair and detail to the cloths. Next portion will be to HD divide and detail then color via photoshop and render.
