This is for the Hardcore modeling challenge: Ray Harryhausen Tribute in CGTalk. I decided to enter because of the topic.
I love the Ray Harryhausen movies, specially “Jason and the argonauts”. There are three things that shocked me when I was a kid and watched the movies: Medussa, the scene with the skelletons and the giant of stone. So I made Talos. I even thought that it was a real scale statue the first time that I watched the movie, hehehehe…

I've used 3D Max, ZBrush and Photoshop. It took me around 15 hours (I thought that the point of these challenges was the speed so I did my best to finish it quickly), plus a few hours for the renders... yes, a few hours for these renders... I have a very slow laptop. I didn't pretend to make a 1:1 copy of the original and I had a lot of fun making this model. Thanks for viewing!

Can’t say how it stacks up to the original will have to look at some images before I can comment on that aspect of the challenge. However, compostionally you did extremely well!! My one impulse in regards to any type of improvement would be to see more color variation and intensities to push and pull certain elements of the overall image. I really enjoy it though and think many others will too!! Keep posting more and adding fine contributions to the forum! :+1: :+1:

Wonderful tribute, Sergio. One of the scenes seared into my brain. I can see the head turning with that ‘creeking’ sound now. Great scene and well done! 50.
