Tablet settings

Hi guys. I’m a new user to Zbrush completely but am getting used to it. I decided to bust out my old Aiptek Hyperpen 12000U (http://www.aiptek.com/Products/) to use. I was wondering how i should set the pressure sensitivity ans such settings in zbrush to get the best response and efficiency.

One other thing i have a problem with is that when I do a few strokes, if i don’t lift the pen away from the tablet, the stroke kind of “sticks” and continues like i still have the pen touching. Any clues on whats going on?

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

A lot of use Wacom’s tablets, so there may be some subtle differences with Aiptek’s drivers. Aside from sensitivity adjustments you should be able to make the Aiptek control panel (you may want to fiddle with pressure and proximity there), there are some master controls in Preferences -> Tablet that will globally adjust brush behavior. Each brush also has independently adjustable responses to Tablet pressure, where you can set custom curves size and intensity response (Brush->Tablet Pressure.)

For the “sticky” brush, you might try adjusting Preferences -> Performance -> Mouse and Tablet samples. You may be getting too many or too few samples from your Aiptek tablet which means that it’s still registering while your pen is in the act of lifting away from the tablet. Try cutting your samples in half (around 50) and doubling them (around 200) and see what you observe.
