Does anyone else have issues with the Tablet Pressure Settings in Zbrush not modifying their brushes the way they’re supposed to? (I’m a new user on this forum, so I apologize if this post has shown up more than once- I wasn’t sure if it went through the first time)
I tried modifying a standard brush so it would change thickness and become more pinched with increased pressure on my pen, as outlined by Eric Keller in his “Introducing Zbrush 4” book, in chapter 7. After initially not being successful, I tried again several times, following the instructions very carefully, but the Tablet Pressure settings (under the Brush Palette) are not having their intended effect. I’m absolutely sure I did everything right. But all I get is a brush that doesn’t react at all to pen pressure, just gives me an even thickness and same amount of pinch no matter what I do with the pen.
I think it is a bug with my copy of Zbrush, because there are brief moments when the brush actually behaves the right way with the Tablet Pressure settings it has, and will suddenly respond to pen pressure. But then it will lapse back into not working again.
To test things out, I used the ready made detail Brush that came with the DVD in Eric’s book, and that had the same problems as the one I tried to create using his instructions. In fact, it also had the thing happen where it all of a sudden worked very briefly, and then went back to not working, and just giving me the same, even stroke again.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I understand the process of modifying brushes, it’s just that the software doesn’t seem to be doing what it’s told. Is there a patch for it or should I perhaps re-install Zbrush? Would really appreciate help with this!
Thanks very much.
