Hi there. I finally managed to download the update and I’m very excited. The first thing I started doing was setting up the environment.
One of the first things I checked was the tablet. I have a wacom intuos and even though I can use it in Zbrush, all the preferences in the tablet dialog are greyed out. So I can’t make any changes. Why is that?
mine was like that until i used the tablet to navigate and then it lit up and could be modified…
Tablet settings may only be modified when using the pen. If you use the mouse, the settings will not be available.
Yep you’re right aurick.
I’m trying to fix the rotation speed of the model.
When I use the mouse the speed through which you can rotate the model is much faster and with less effort than with the tablet.
I have to press twice on the tablet in order to make a rotation that would take a mouse a half move.
Any ideas how to change that?
I suspect that what you are seeing is the difference between ‘pen’ and ‘mouse’ mode. In pen mode movement around the ZBrush canvas is exactly as you move the pen, mouse mode movement is accelerated (you can adjust this in the Wacom Tablet preferences thru the Mac System Preferences). The default mode for ZBrush is pen mode. For Intuos you can switch to mouse mode by clicking the mode button on the touch strip.
The ratio between cursor-movement to rotation is identical for Mouse and Tablet inputs. The discrepancies may be due to your mouse settings (fast mouse tracking ) or a sizable tablet (large pen motion generates relatively small cursor movement).
In any case, you may adjust the rotation-speed and scale-speed in the Preferences:Interface:Rotate Speed and Preferences:Interface:Scale Speed respectively.
Note: At this time, these values are not stored within the configuration file. If needed, you may record a short Macro - or a Startup ZScript - which will set your preferred values whenever you launch ZBrush.

Edit: I now see that marcus_civis has replied about ‘pen-vs-mouse’ mode. Thanks Marcus:)
