t.i.c's dumping ground

Another speedsculpt. Same base as the last one, but tried a re-topo on it this time. I think I understand the advantage of it now! Just need to practice getting cleaner results…

C&C really appreciated.

Another quickie. Going for more stylized look and playing with proportions a bit more. Defeated Lucha Libre. I like the profile angle better for compositon, but added the front view as it shows the sculpt better. Still a lot to do - fine details and polypaint but wanted to get some feedback on the proportions and general muscle layout, so any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for looking.

Interesting work. Keep it this way :+1:

Aye t.i.c !!! love that light glow & rays from your concept
And the noise too. The noise in some of your work give you a very unique style.
Remember me (noise) to the cool atmosphere from an australian movie … “murder call” I think.
Good Luck and a lot of free time for Zbrushing !

@michalis: thanks for dropping by and thanks for your comment! I really appreciate the feedback.

@HiPi: Thanks again buddy. Maybe I need to spend as much time on my sculpting as i do on the post work ;). I think i now the movie that you are talking about… it was also a tv series here in aus.

thanks RorrKonn!

Yet another zbrush central staple… the joker. Another quick scuplt, with hair done in blender and exported as geometry, polypaint and comping and post done in PS. Might do another version with the blender hair particles.

Hopefully the inspiration of Alex Ross can be seen in it. I love his work.

Would love to hear some crits or comments.

The kid blowing out the candle has cool lighting and the dude with the crazy mask has a nice color palette. The sculpts, poses, and compositions are also good. The weird proportion guy’s not my thing, but interesting. I know these are just speed sculpts, but keep at it, they show some potential.

My only crit for you at the time is that you are doing sketches rather than finished pieces. Push your limits a bit more and you’ll do well. The Joker is a good example of this. While it isn’t a bad idea, with the green bg to the left and the lighting to the right, the delivery isn’t there. I suspect if you spent a week on it rather than a night, it would be freakin’ killer.

just commenting, good joker - i love drawing the joker too.

@ rouncer - thanks mate. yeah he’s a fun character

@ jamespthornton - thanks a lot for your feedback. I really appreciate it. And you’re right. I find myself getting distracted easily with moving on and trying either a new concept or playing with a different feature and as a result, I haven’t fully explored any of them! I will re-explore the joker and try to push it and develop it more. thanks again for dropping by

Loooong time no post. Work has once again taken up all my time. But here is something I have been working on slowly. The armour in particular is based on a concept by an amazing artist Seamas Gallagher, whose blog can be found here: http://seamassketches.blogspot.com/
Obviously I have drifted from the original, as I’m moving towards the ageing warrior, preparing for his final battle type theme.

All work and renders in zbrush with dof added in photoshop. Still heaps to do, especially on the details for the armour and environment, but would love some feedback before I head too far down that path, breaking symmetry etc.

Hope you like it.

Trying to revive this thread…and my use of zbrush which has taken a backseat to more important things of late

a quick sculpt of venom, starting from a plane. photoshop used for the usual bits and pieces - dof, colour correction and saliva pain tover (teeth area)

so much great reference out there for this character and I have used a lot of it and tried to combine some of the new, with some of the old.

CC welcomed and encouraged!

Thanks! venom_wip_comp.jpg
