Symmetry will NOT work no matter what

Since I first started using Zbrush, symmetry has been giving me problems. I follow the tutorials, I’ve read dozens of forum posts about this and no one has asked this question.

How do I get symmetry to work? I can’t even get it to work on a brand new sphere. I’ve cleared the canvas. I’ve made sure it’s an editable model.

The only time it works (and only briefly) is if I load a demo model, but once I do something it stops working. I can’t get it working again unless I restart and reload. This is not a solution.

Pretend I am completely retarded and give me Step by Step instructions. I’ve already spent a few hours [not] figuring this out.

Note: The image is of when I hold **** to print the screen, so the view is a little different.

Thanks!

try “X” toggle for actual sym. My guess is you’re trying to use local sym which works for objects that aren’t in world center but are still symmetrical along an axis.

transform>activate symmetry>x (and/or any other axis you’d like)

Thanks!!! I had to go back to the original tutorials to find that. Quick response, thank you.
