Symmetry Problem

So I am brand new to ZBrush and I have been working on a few projects to learn the ropes. This problem has popped up on every project so far, but I just realized what it is now. It seems that when working on my models, the symmetry gets messed up. i was working on a body today, and when sculpting on the torso, the strokes were showing up on the right but not the left. and then I tried sculpting on the left first, but then something even stranger happened. this time it showed up on the opposite side, but in a much stronger intensity that the left.

I have looked this up already and tried the Smart ReSym and it didn’t work. I feel like this is a problem with Zbrush not my model. would uninstalling and reinstalling be a good idea?

I don’t really know what to do at this point, hopefully somebody does!

Thanks for the time

Are you sure your model is centered at the origin. If its just a little bit off that would cause that I think. Try turning on Local Symmetry (L.Sym) under the Transform Palette and see if that helps?

well I tried turning on local symmetry but that didn’t help. and no I’m not sure if my model is centered. how do i check that?
