Symmetry problem, subtools moved off of center

Hi!

I can not work symmetricalyl with my subtools (Face Modeling), all of them are moved i x-axis. when symmetry is activated the center line/ cursor appears slightly moved to the left off the actual center of the face.

Resetting pivot points or toggling local symmetry won’t fix it.

Does anyone have have any suggestions on how to move my subtool face back into the center?
I’ve experienced the same issue with Zspheres when they have been slightly moved using the “W”-Move tool.

thank you

Use the Offset slider in Deformation submenu. First click on either X,Y or Z for the axis (probably X in your case) then click on the slider to turn number box red so you can enter numerical values. You can use decimal values for fine adjustment. When you do this, switch to your lowest subdivision level first and turn on PolyF and Symmetry so it’s easier to line up the mesh to the cursors.

thank you !! that has worked well.

well, that’s really good to know, thanks zber2.

My latest mesh has 79 subtools. Is there a way to reliably get proper symmetry using best practices in the source program (Max) before importing into ZBrush?

I’ve aligned my objects which need symmetry in Max, centered pivots, objects at zero X axis, but I still get objects off-center.

I noticed that if I slightly move objects left or right in ZB that I can fix the symm, but do I really have to move each subtool independently to get it right in ZB?

Thanks,

DB
