Symmetry Coloring? Masking box? (Probably Simple Answers)

I have sculpted a character face (looks like a bug) and am now beginning to add color to it.

My first question is about symmetry and color: Is there any symmetry tool for applying paint? I ask because I am coloring the eyes and pupils, and have one side done. If there was a button for applying paint symmetrically to the other side, this would help out a lot as the eye’s are actually protruding from the head in an odd manner, and take some time to paint correctly.

My second question is about masking: I have been using the masking tools to help me section off small pieces of my character face. I know that when I hold down CTRL and release the mouse button, I get a green box that locks down what I only want to see. I also know that when I hold down CTRL + SHIFT, then release SHIFT, and then release the mouse button, I can remove more areas/segments of my original mask to aid in refining it. What does holding CTRL + SHIFT + the mouse button, then releasing the SHIFT button, the CTRL button, then the mouse button exactly do? I have tried this and I get a big red square that I must work within, which works well; but HOW DO I GET RID OF IT? I sometimes perform this action by accident, and then am stuck with this box until I make another one or make a New Document.

I’m sorry for the lengthy details.

Any and all help is always appreciated.

Thanks!

you used the hotkey combo for making a stencil

stencil>turn off

Also, to paint symmetrically have symmetry turned on when you paint.
