Symmetrical Transpose Problems ZBrush 4

So I’ve run into this problem again right off the bat when I start a new model, but where that was 3.5r3, this is ZBrush 4. In fact, I’ve simplified it into a very easily replicated method (for me, anyway, since no one else seems to have this problem).

  1. Create a ZSphere base using X-axis Symmetry.
  2. Create an Adaptive skin, default settings.
  3. Change the tool to the Adaptive Skin.
  4. Turn X-axis Symmetry back on.
  5. Ctrl - drag a mask, but not enough so that it modifies the center loop.
  6. Drag your action line to a logical place in the mask.

From there, Rotate Transpose works just as it should, however, Scale and Move both cause the same problem as outlined in the link above. It’s as if ZBrush is looking at the wrong Action Line when doing the Transpose.

I don’t know how to explain it and it’s the most infuriating thing to have one of the simplest tools just not work. Is there really no one else having this problem?

EDIT: After doing a little testing, it is indeed looking at the wrong action line. Any Transpose where the Action Line is parallel to the axis of symmetry works just as expected. I booted up the DemoSoldier.zpr for the test, too, so it’s not just the models I create. Anyone got any solutions or ideas to toss out?

is this what you are pointed out?

No, not quite. Perhaps I didn’t explain it well enough, but I made a video of it to show it off clearly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPY4CjRRYLU

In the beginning is the DemoSoldier.zpr (but this applies to every tool I can use or create) with X-Axis symmetry applied. I use the Move Transpose throughout the video. However, at :44, I turn off symmetry and the Transpose tool works as it should. I’m curious as to why it doesn’t work with symmetry on. It has never once worked correctly.

Wow. I must really be the only person in the world with this problem. Looks like I’ll have to switch to get anything done. Here’s hoping something comes out of this this time.
