symetry displacement

Hi guys,
Is it possible to sculpt half a model create displacements ,then in an external app create the full model then back in zbrush use the displacement map previously created to displace both sides :o

I don’t believe that would work.

What you could do is sculpt one side of your model with the other half hidden, then mask the sculpted side and unhide the model. Now go to level 1 and use Tool>Deformation>Smart ReSym. Then step up one level at a time and repeat the Smart ReSym.

Out of curiosity, why are you wanting to work this way? After all, ZBrush has real-time symmetry sculpting. And if your model is posed you can also sculpt in real-time with posable symmetry (found in the Transform palette).

I have made a model with a hidden face ( phantom of the opera style )and wanted a full face sculpt. I did not realise smart sym could sort it out level by level. thanks for your help.
