Symetry corrupted

Hi guys, made some sculpt in ZBrush 4 and all was fine until I decided to switch into “move modus” and make the arms of my character a bit longer. I continued working and suddenly I noticed that I would get a different result on both sides of the model, havin x-symetry active.

I masked one half and use resym to fix that, but didn’t work very well (tested on several subdivision levels). Now when I try to mask one half of the model even that doesn’t work any longer. Instead complete model is masked, except a square somewhere on the face which is left out. I’ve worked for some time on this model now and would be glad, if I could save it.

Here’s a screen of the problem, plus an other graphics issue I cannot say what it’s caused by.

TDW;)

symmetry now works when masking so you have to turn masking off when you want only to mask half of the model and i see from you image that you have 2 subtools so i bet the part that is unmasked is another tool that you did not know you had created.

Thx, I see. Masking is working again, but I cannot mirror the model anymore, maybe toplogy was off from the beginning. My model has a continous edge loop around it’s center length, but when I select it in Blender it doesn’t get highlighted completely. ZBrush might not like that either.

The weird mixing issue of the two matcaps seems to be a result of the model having two different materials applied to it and I don’t know how to get rid of it in ZBrush now.

TDW

not sure abou the first former but for the later question
