switch to lower res model for faster rotation?

Hi,
Zbrush was doing this, when I was rotating my model it would switch down to a lower res and it rotated much faster. But now it’s not doing it anymore, is there a setting for this?

Do you have any portion of the mesh hidden? Hiding part of the mesh disables this behavior for some reason.

For reference though, the behavior is controlled with the “QTransThreshhold” slider in the Preferences>Performance palette.
