Sweet Mary Jane ("Making Of" update pg.4 )

:+1: Great process!

Budget…Budget…
I wish I could try my hand on Rapid prototyping.

BTW, Whats the most affordable, and yet working, 3D printer at the moment? Beside Z-Corps ZPrinter.

Poboyross,

I am really interested in the Boolean process from choosing the cuts to making the Boolean shapes to final printing and fitting.

Please consider doing a video tutorial on this process. Specific points of interest would be the design and thickness of the Boolean shapes as well as checking the tolerances of these mating parts/pins etc. Also, in this example cutting the hair into multiple fitted parts. It would also be nice just to se Magics demonstrated as I am sure few of us have any experience with the tool.

Thanks,

BDub

Aside from how fantastic the sculpt is, this update on the RP process has been fascinating. I’ve made a couple of pieces for some hobbyists and the bees I could get to was sending the a ZTL from Zbrush. I had no idea that I could create tools that could be used for bolleans.

Can you tell me would it be possible to use to pieces for each bolleans? Each fitting into the other. That way you wool use one to create the socket and the othe to create the plug so to speak ( obviously on two different copies of the mesh. That way the joins could ha zero gap. I think this may come from som uncertainty about what the bolleans tools look like

Thanks so much for sharing this with us. A beautiful piece and the workflow description is really helpful!
