Surface Noise

Hi all,

I’m not sure if this is a common issue or not but every time I try to use surface noise Zbrush crashes.
This happens on both 32 bit and 64 (running 64bit Windows 7 and 32GB of RAM).
I’ve tried using all sorts of geometry and it always insta-crashes

This seems to be the only tool that has this issue.

If anyone has had a similar issue or knows how to possibly fix this I would love to hear about it!

Thanks
Tim

No problem here. Are you using 4R7 P3?

I was using 64bit but was advised by pixologic support to try 32bit aswell. Which I did… but neither works.

Fingers crossed it seems to be fixed now thanks to their support. Incase anyone else has a similar issue this is what I was advised to do:

  1. Uninstall ALL releases of ZBrush from your computer
  2. Locate and delete the Pixologic folder that is left behind. This is in your Program Files (x86) directory
  3. Locate and delete the \Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData folder
  4. Locate and delete the \Users\Public\Pixologic folder
  5. Make sure you are now logged into computer as full admin
  6. Disable any anti-virus software - Anti virus software causes 90% of all problems with files corruptions when installing ZBrush
  7. Reinstall ZBrush
  8. Start up Zbrush and choose web activation
  9. Once activated, turn on anti-virus software.

Seems to have done the trick!
