Surface finish (Maya)

Hello every one

I have a problem when i render my model in maya with mental ray my displacement map looks as if it had wrinkles, is this normal? do i need a normal map? Also i dont get the definition of details as it looks in zbrush

It looks like your map might be losing bit-depth. That looks a lot like a render of an 8-bit map rather than 16-bit or 32-bit.
