Surface Book 2 Pen 'deadzone' in ZBrush

Hello,

I recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Book 2 and am generally very happy with it, however I’m noticed when I try to use the pen with ZBrush, there is is a small area of around 3mm around the tip where the pen touches the screen where nothing gets registered.

Once I move the pen out of this initial touch zone the stroke will be registered. This doesn’t happen when using a mouse of the touchpad. I don’t seem to have this issue in other applications, such as Photoshop. I’ve installed the latest version of Windows, and the WinTab drivers.

Looking around it appears other people have the same issue on other newer Surface devices, but I can’t seem to find a fix yet. I was hoping someone here might have some suggestions!zbrushsurface.jpg

I think this has something to do with the “Press and Hold Settings” in the Pen and Touch options. It is a movement filter, where it doesn’t register a movement till you have moved the pen a certain distance, in case you are trying to hold the pen in place for a right-click.

I have press and hold disabled, but it still seems to be affected by the settings. This is what I did to make it a little better:

I enabled it so the Speed and Duration options can be modified. I set them both to the maximum “Long” and then disabled it again. It seems to have helped, although there is still some lag there.
