Superman Bust - Inspired by Alex Ross

I’m with boozy floozie, Antropus - really great. The way a superhero character should be, love your approach to the character. As far as shaders and lighting, this approach works for me. Using some old school tricks you could get a better and very stylized look, over all those new fandangled words and approaches.

Martin, keep the good work!

amazing job, just want to say the hair in the forehead looks strange because you model into it

Hey Kris!

This is just beautiful! You have such a great eye for form and details.

Your work inspire me all the time when im sculpting with clay and with zbrush too. I was wondering if you will be attending this year to Siggraph. If so, it would be nice to meet you and also to ask you a few questions about sculpting, styles of sculpting and workflows.

Ok Kris have a good one!

It’s superb! :+1:

This is going to be the best Superman model ever! This is how a cg Kingdom Come movie would look like.

Very good work!
i love the details like the hinted stubbly beard, the lightly grey hair and the muscles. :+1:

jeez, i just can’t stop looking at this model! i realize it’s preliminary, but it’s incredible. IMHO, this is what superman should look like. lots of bulk but not too much. the new movie superman is just too thin for me.

on a quick side note, i watched superman 2 for the first time in a long time the other day. anyone notice how many times they show that damn marlboro truck in the city fight scenes?

Sweet !!! eagerly waitin to c the updates !!! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Gobsmackingly good!

Stunning work. Your really know your stuff man!

10 outa 10

your best work so far antropus. Im a big fan of the kingdome come mini series.

It is another concept for superman.

Dai Kris.
How is our beautiful country.
Man I miss Brasil, send me some coxinhas please.
Dude you drive me crazy.
You’re very talented, but I wish you would finish one.
I know, I know, I’m the pot calling the kettle black.
I’m notorious for doing the same.
I just see these amazing pieces.
So gifted…
I make it my early New years resolution to finish the old pieces
I have, before I start any new ones.
Rolls up his sleeves.
Oh boy, look at this mess, clears off desk.
I love this Superman… I think it’s the best work I’ve ever seen from you.
Please finish him.
Now back to work for me. So much to catch up on.
Cheers

I love it, your work is fantastic, plas plas

Kris that’s beautiful work, I was stunned when I opened this thread. Very inspiring.
Love the stern/grizzly look you’ve given him.

Wow he’s a looker even if he is a bit up there in a age. But it does look like him. Awsome work!

Badass work! I love it! Hey, what’s not original about modeling a Superhero? Drawing them as a comic book artist sure is, and I definitely think modeling them isnt any easier than drawing them. Quite to the contrary, people already expect a certian visual and are a lot harder to please as compared to new stuff. Well, thats at least my 2 cents. Great work anyways! Any more heroes from Kingdom Come coming up? I’d love to see 'em. As an old comic book geek I cant get enough of them!
