I was wondering if anyone thought of perhaps adding an IMM Grid brush to ZB? When modelling things like hotels espescially. There are often grids of identicle components i.e. windows. I was thinking that it would be pretty awsome to be able to have an IMM brush that you could drag out a rectangle/square with that had variable row/column inputs that could automatically distribute copies (with optional automatic scale to fit variable spacing spacing)… at least on a flat surface. It would be even better if there was the option to adjust the numbers and sizing before finalizing. If a row offset option was included, it could be really simple to build simple rock/brick walls as well especially if you could load say a max of ten or so brick models with random depth tolerance and brick selection to distribute. Then you could drag out a wall on a plain after making the peices and then fine tune. If each brick model maintained it’s own polygroup as well, that would make it easier to paint in subtle color variations between brick types for example.
Also a similar IMM Border brush could operate the same except that it would only distribute along the borders of the selected area. In fact, maybe it could even just be another setting in the IMM Grid brush.
At any rate, just thought the idea was worth putting out there if no one else suggested anything of the sort.
I suppose a grid distribution could be useful at times within other shapes as well. So, there may be other outline shape options worth considering, but the most obvious would be squares and rectangles. If the insert angles adjusted to surface normals; I could see a whole host of other uses in hard surface modelling especially, and in many outline shapes.
Edit: I suppose The border brush would be duplication of the Frame Mesh function since polygroups are pretty easy to make. Maybe a grid fill function could just be added there instead.
