Using some old sculpts to test out a ZBrush to Modo workflow similar to the keyshot bridge. Besides tweaking some curves in photoshop and vignetting, no other post work on these. And more importantly, no retopology/UV’s and all the benefits of the shader tree And and it feels good to have full control over lighting after wrestling with keyshot’s area lights
Have you guys on ZBC tried this approach? Would love to exchange info and ideas!

A’righty, here you go!
I was testing out the custom matcap I usually use but this time with a super pronounced cavity transition and color bump to get those edge definitions without spending time sculpting them. And it works! As long as you don’t need to take it to other apps, I guess? Maybe there’s a way for that too, I don’t know. More experimenting is essential before we draw any conclusions my dear watson!
Admittedly I didn’t go as nuts with color correction on this one,
Usually at this point I’d liquify and nudge around the shapes a lot but in this case the output from ZBrush was pretty close to what I wanted.
And that’s it. Leave your comments down below!
Ohh and don’t forget to check out the sculpt over at sketchfab!

Thanks for the breakdown! I love the way the final turned out. Looks a lot like a painting…which I like the most. I’d be interested in checking out that matcap you used if you’re willing to share :).
@LjSketch : Hey Lionel! Thank you! And of course, I’d love to see what you do with the matcap. I’ve put together a breakdown of the matcap/BPR settings and how I currently use them over here. Do keep me posted when you experiment with it,
lovelyyy my dear freind
