Suddenly Cannot Poly Paint

I have no idea what happened but suddenly I cannot poly paint on my model. I select mRGB or just RGB at the top, and remove the zadd/sub option. I also ensure that the paint icon in the subtool pallet is on. I am just, for some strange zbrush-reason, unable to get the poly painting to show up. Does anybody have an idea of what the problem might be?

I was working with zapplink with photoshop to project a texture on my model. It worked perfectly for the front and side, but my model is asymmetric. So I tried to do it on the opposite side and suddenly I realized I was no longer able to poly paint.

Down in the “texture map” section, I saw that my “texture on” was no longer orange, and creating a new texture was not possible. When returning from photoshop via zapplink, the poly painting information LOOKS like it’s there, but when I press “drop now”, the program thinks for a second, and then nothing changes on my model–it appears to revert to how it was before the newest projection gets added. The old poly painting information is still there, and vanishes when the paint icon is clicked in the subtool pallet, but I am unable to edit the model further in regards to poly painting. It’s very strange, and I have no idea what to do, even after all the aforementioned trouble shooting. Please help.

Check to make sure you model isn’t masked.
Just for ****s and giggles change your material to default and try another projection and see if that works.
Close Zbrush and PS and see if that fixes it as that should flush the cache for both applications.
Can you polypaint with a brush, not using Zapplink? You mention that you can’t get it to show up…does that mean at all, or jus new polypaint info?

Is a texture turned on?

Hmm…I think that’s the main issues that people run into.

Yeah the 3 things I look for are:

Polypaint button on
RGB on
Texture in texture maps off

Are you using layers (in Zbrush not Photoshop)? I know I’ve run into a lot of sculpting and painting issues when using layers.
