Subtools turn black

Hi. Using ZBrush 4 on PC, 8 gigs RAM. OS XP x 64.

Working on a character for some time. At some point some of the subtools aquired a strange glitch.

If I try to generate a dispmap the tool disappears and if I turn the newly generated dispmap off, the tool is again visible but black. I have no layers active and filled the subtool with white color.

If I delete the UVs the tool returns to whatever color/material I assign. However, if I generate an all new map the tool becomes black again.

I exported the obj into Maya to check normals but they’re all fine. Anyone know what happened and how to fix?

Hi, the same thing happend to me ; when ZB creates your displacement map, it also makes a black texture. Simply turn it off, and your mesh will reappear. (Tools -> Texture Map -> Texture On)
