well I’m pretty sure that I’m probably doing it wrong so I’ll just explain the process I’m using before I ask the question.
for this particular porject I started off with a character created from Zspheres and generated a poly mesh and sculpted it. once that suclpt was finished I exported I exported it as an OBJ to Maya and started creating pieces for it to be used as sculpted cloths.
when i import my gometry I select my original mesh and then select another tool in the menu (say a sphere) and import my geometry. once the geometry is imported I reactivate my zsphere model and go to the sub tool menu and append the geometry to the sculpt unfortunely it is out of scale and out of place. the new geometry is sitting at the “origin” in the middle of the sculpted mesh (the root zsphere)
and now for the question.
when i sculpt my characters in zbrush why do my subtools import out of place?
I was watching a Gnomon video where the instructor started working with subtools and they just snapped in the subtools with no effort at all. I’m wondering if there is a way to do that.
I’m told by another user that the problem is that i made the character in zbrush and everyone else imported their character/geometry (base mesh) from another package.
simply put, i’m hoping this isn’t the case…
