Subtools have different tone?

So I’ve got this issue with my subtools being a different shade even though I colour/material filled each with the exact same colour. This presents issues when I go to start polypainting as obviously the parts don’t match in colour and never could as a result of this issue. Does anyone have a solution for this or method of trobleshooting?

are they just filled with different colors, or materials?
1 screen shot doesn’t really tell the story I think.

You could use use zplugins>Subtool Master to fill all with same material and or color.
