subtools getting lost

Hi. I’m doing a creature head tutorial. I have the head, teeth and each eyeball as an individual subtool. When I try to add another subtool (in this case, a horn), and append it to the head, the head shows up, but the other subtools (the teeth and eyeballs) disappear.

The only way I’ve figured out how to get around this, is to close out the whole program (command N doesn’t seem to work in this case), create the horn first, THEN import the creature head tool–then the head shows up with all the pieces.

Is there another way to get all the subtools to show up at the same time, or is there something I’m missing?

you can try to use >zplugs>subtool master
You can append a tool and all of it’s subtools into another tool.
you can also append obj files (once at a time or many at once).

Give that a try and see if that works out any better for you.
