Subtool Materials are gone when model is reloaded

So, why is it that when I initialize zbrush or open my mesh for the first time each day, the material information is lost? I have to re-apply the correct materials to each individual subtool everytime I reopen it? If I have 20 subtools, do I need to apply the material to all 20 subtools individually, everytime I open the model?

Is there any way to retain the material while saving the model out?

You have 2 options:

  1. When you put all materials on your model, drop it on the canvas and save a ZBR document. So, when you open Zbrush, open the doc, load your model and clear the canvas (Ctrl+N).
  2. Save the custom materials you’re using on the Zstartup\Zmaterials folder. Be careful though, to not overload this folder with custom materials. It only permits a limited quantity.
