Been lurking these forums for years. I wanted to post some stuff you might find interesting. All these assets were created using Zbrush 4r7.
I’ve been working with SIE R&D West for the past year on subdivision surfaces for the Playstation 4. The technology is based on Pixar’s OpenSubdiv, which you may be familiar with. Subdivision on the Playstation 4 is feature adaptive, rather than uniform, making it more useful for real-time applications. The tech also takes advantage of displacement mapping for creating detailed meshes.
We recently gave a presentation at GDC 2017 and you should be able to view the slides on the SIE R&D web site sometime in the near future.
