Sub divide smoothing

I am trying to take this head i have modled from 3ds max into zbrush, to do some normal maps on it. However the problem i am having is with how zbrush smooths my mesh, when it subdivides. I lose most my sharp edges and alot of detail in the ears because of it.

Is there anyway to fix this, maybe editting some smooth settings? Take into account i am a zbrush noob and will need step by steps. Here are some pics (orignal on left)

turn off smoothing before subdivide.

tool>geometry>smt

Yeah i tried that. but then it messes up the normal map. Basically adds the unsmoothed-ness to the normal map. So when i apply it to my smoothed model it makes it look unsmoothed. Kinda hard to explain but i don’t have a picture.

In the Download Center (seem my signature) there’s a plugin for Smooth Group Import. I think it’ll resolve your issue.
