Stubi //~ Darkness Monster ~ LOTR Look

That’s good. :+1:
I agree, a pure mesh it’s best way for the same monsters, xsi is rock with gigapolygon feature.

great model!..was this modeled in Maya? When are we gonna get to see this short film?

Any chance you could share which renderer, render setting, and lights used?

Thanks!

Hello All!! Really nice your comment! I hope you like my answer!

All of my work is made in Softimage Xsi and Zbrush for the details. For the short film, I dont have a release cause, I make the production at Hybride, inside the compagnie and all depend if a movie come in! At time time 8 persons work on the demo, and after Xmas, I want to put my animatic on my web site. If is possible in the border of June or july, maybe finish!

For the Depth, I have a Depht render in Xsi, I put that in photoshop with a lens Blur, and I add some Radial and motion blur! Tweak that and is done!

If you want to see some Turn Table of my work go on my web site!

WOW ! Tres belle job les gars… l’image est vraiment nice !

:rage: it’s super cool. your are good at modeling and drawing!

I really love this character, everything about it. I think you nailed it. Congrats to you and all involved in its creation.

Definitely an inspiring piece.

Really Outstanding!
It is a joy for the eye to see such great works!

the detail is good, but the anatomy could be better

Great image!! awesome render :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrats!!

The character is great, the texture also…yet there is one thing I like less, and that’s the dof. Depth of field is a typical lens problem and many photographers see it as a limitation. What you do here is say that this should imitate a lens that has a wide-open diaphragm, meaning there is not enough light. Which there is.
But imo it would gain in credibility if it didn’t imitate a camera at all. A camera still creates a feeling of safety as it happened “there” and “then”. Normal eyes don’t have this kind of dof. The impact is much stronger if my eyes see and my brain cannot interpret this as “ah this is a capture from somewhere else, not here”.

Wow! Never thought I’d say this, but that first headshot actually made me feel a little frightened! I’ve seen plenty of frightening looking beasts, but never actually felt the fear…Great job!!!

Great model! i can’t stand for watching the movie.

Congrats.
