Stroke Spacing disabled?

Hi,

I can’t get the stroke spacing slider to be active. I am in freehand mode on version 3 and it is grayed out. I’m sure I am missing something simple but I haven’t found anything in the help or searches on this forum.

I am trying to sculpt with an alpha.

It becomes enabled if you drop into PM. Don’t know why.

So I guess spacing is only available in PM!? Seems like it is strange for it to only be there unless it is a bug. Then again, this is zbrush.

If you want to repeat your alpha spaced along the line you draw switch on Roll in the Stroke palette.

Thanks … I wondered what ‘Roll’ did … there’s nothing about it in the Wiki, and no Ctrl mouse-over notes. :+1:

Thanks. I did end up finding the roll setting and it worked fine. I wonder why it wasn’t grayed out? :wink:

The freehand stroke in Z3 creates a clean continuous stroke. To test this, select the Layer edit brush and freehand stroke!

To use spacing, select the default Dots mode, activate Lazy mouse and set the spacing in the ‘stroke:lazy step’ slider.

There are no way to get the same way as you got with lazymouse and a small step?

I tested it with layer brush with and without lazymouse, and that’s not the same stroke.
The one with lazy mouse is more smooth than without, I am not talking about the direction of the stroke but the spacing.

And with the Std brush I can’t get a smooth spacing without lazymouse.

i duno why its set like that but i find it kind of frutrating not being a big fan of the lazy mouse. the strokes should be fully customizable, like photoshop. makes for more personalization. hence the rise of speed sculpting (or maybe thats exactly what their trying to avoid) it also doesnt help that my computers to slow to skulpt like i paint.

I don´t get it why the spacing slider is not useable!!! I don´t want to use the lasy mouse every time! and when you use the relative button on lasy mouse you got a limited spacing and (!) its hard to controll the starting of the stroke!!! WTF !!! and the rolling don´t work for me eather. you cannot change the space between the alphas in your stroke!

SO WHY IS THE SPACING SLIDER TURNED OFF ???
