Stroke Masking?

Is there any way to create masks along strokes?

I would like to use the curve mask tool to select a certain radius from the center of the curve line rather than just selecting everything in a certain direction from the line similar to photoshop

Thanks in advance!

Use Curve Mode in the Stroke palette. Hold down Ctrl while selecting Curve Mode.

Thanks, that worked, sort of

the only thing is it is not a standard curve like if you used say the MaskCurve brush where you can press ALT to start a curve and double tap Alt to make a corner, i want that functionality rather than just a dragging lazymouse style curve, is that possible?

I’ve read all of the masking and brush documentation and looked through all of the threads but haven’t found an answer to my question anywhere.

Nothing exactly as you want exists in ZBrush at this time. If you use Curve Mode, you can turn on and off “AsLine” as needed and continuing the curve, but any bends or radii would have to be freehand.

That’s what i was afraid of…

Thanks for the hep anyway!

Possible ‘work arounds’.
Use a brush you can control as you like to create polygroups. Then mask by polygroup.
You could try to mask with an alpha.
