Strange pivot point position after importing from max

Hi I’m wondering If anyone can help me, firstly I searched for an answer to this problem but couldnt seem to find it.
I import an obj file from max and when I paint with symmetry on the centre of the symmetry is not where I want it. If I turn off edit mode and click rotate this confirms that my pivot is off centre which is why i think my symmetry is off?
I have exported the object fine from max and its pivots are where they should be, so please can anyone help?

The pivot point of the mesh is going to be its geometric center, unless you have dragged the cross-hair in the Tool>Preview or you have clicked SPivot while the mesh was partially hidden.

If you continue to have trouble, we will need to see examples.

Hi aurick thanks for your response, while getting together my print screen this morning I loaded in my obj and it all seems to be working fine so I no longer have the problem. I’m happy about this but also I hate it because I’m only starting out on ZBrush and I have not solved this problem. Who knows what weird things I was doing to cause the problemn in the first place!
