Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I’m having creating bump/displacement maps in Zbrush. I dont have a whole lot of experience using Zbrush so this may well have a really simple solution. I’m trying to add rivets to an aircraft wing. I have created the rivets on the wing in zbrush and exported the displacement map, then in Maya I have used the file as a bump map on a standard blinn shader. However, when I render an image of the wing you can see strange lines on the geometry. If I open up the bump map in photoshop and put the contrast right up you can see the strange lines really clearly. I have tried playing around with different settings and intensities in zbrush but I havent found a solution. Does anyone know why zbrush is putting these lines in the bump map?
Thanks alot
This is the wing in zbrush with no weird lines:
