Strange Flat color material behaviour

Hi again,

Does anyone notice that the “Flat color” material only works randomly? Most of the time, when I switch to Flat color material, it display the MatCap Red Wax material instead.

Flat color, when it works, is very useful to see your polypaint work by itself.

I’ve been looking around on the internet and most of the cases involve recording mode for layers. But I’m currently not using any layers.

Any work around?

If you want to see your polypaint without a material simply turn on Render>Flat.
