straightening z spheres created with armature brush : answered. thank you

Greetings, I am really nrew to this so please bear with me and my questions. While doing the video tutorial on z sphere brushes it says to press shift alt then click where you want the straightening to align to then drag. When I do this absolutely nothing happens. If I click first then press shift alt I can get a new straight line of z spheres but that doesn’t help with starightening out the ones already created. Same thing with the 90 degree angle thing.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hold down Shift then LMB click and hold then let go of Shift and hold down Alt to straighten.
