Love you style Frederick.
I’d be curious to hear how much your workflow has changed due to dynamesh. It seems like your Z4R2 beta vids allowed you to rough out a form without the poly stretching I see in the rhino’s back in this vid. Pros and cons for each method?
Keep up the awesome work.
btw: I see a little of Bill Mayer’s illustration style in your work. Is he an inspiration?
Also, I’m a big fan of (Jolly) Roger Bradfield and the 60’s book and ad illustration work he did. I try to buy the vintage books of his stuff whenever possible. A great one to start with is Benjamin Dilly’s Thirsty Camel. Well worth finding even a beat-up copy.

cool…i’ll be sure to watch the whole length of these tonight.

@mbaldwin
Thank you!
I think dynamesh has changed the way I concept, but when working from a concept, it really hasn’t changed that much. I like to start from zspheres if I have already made a concept, I still use dynamesh if I need something that I can’t fix otherwise, but generally but the thought process is still the same, get the basic shapes down first.
I think one of the main disadvantages of using dynamesh is with very thin objects, and sometimes it mergers areas if too close. But then again you get a really awesome mesh to sculpt from compared to zspheres, though the zspheres mesh is great much better for getting the basic shapes down.
I honestly didn’t know any of the people you mention, but they are freaking awesome, I’ll definately check out some more of their stuff.
The style for this rhino is just stolen from UPA, I did a project during this summer where I had to do it in the old UPA style, and I really fell in love with that style, so I thought I’d take it to 3D.
@rasmusW
Haha thanks Rasmus, though I don’t know how much new I can tell you
Talk later buddy!
