To see your concept art translated so faithfully into your 3D work is amazing. You’ve got a lot of talent. Good luck in your job search!

Beautiful job man. Amazing models!!! I think you will get the job in no time.

Mr. Chen,

Seriously hardcore…:+1: :+1: :+1:

great work. the models look great! and the presentation is excellent as well. best of luck!

Hi Steven,

your skills as Modeler are great. I have no doubt that you find a job.

One question: What is the reason that you build your models so density?

Cheers

Ralf Stumpf

PS: I like the music on the demo reel.

…different music with different models should be more dynamic ?
In any case well done :sunglasses:
Pilou

Fantastic work, ejoyed watching your movie demo. Looking at this relates to a question Im about to ask on forum. Weather the concept drawing ability reflects the outcome of the ability to make a good model.:+1:

just incredible! :+1:
I´m sure you´ll need some time to choose from many job offers

Chen-master, your work drips emotional tension. Eye candy. Good hunting!

tez, here’s my 0.02 on ability:

Frenchy Pilou may know better about this, but it still impresses me that Matisse felt a disconnect after years of using his world-class ability. He complained (to Picasso) that, at fifty, he still hadn’t “learned” to draw!

From this, I sense drawing ability is situational, and variable, but constant practice has a definite relation to the highest outcome possible.

I hear Matisse was so resolved, he re-taught himself to draw with his other hand, intending to bypass all the “bad habits” he had learned when he first began. I hope this part of the story isn’t an Urban Legend… it consoles me when I feel like a no-talent hack!

=dp

It seems that some people have a gift to draw anatomically with little need for refference. In this case it shows that the drawings equal the 3d work.

I agree. My belief is that the dedicated can memorize this stuff like musical scales.

Specifically, as a developing storyboard artist, I will be paid per panel so time is money. Problem is, I’m no Chen-level sketcher. So I’m practicing and studying so I won’t give up profits by taking time searching reference.

Constant practice memorizing parts and angles and shadows will help equalize my apparently lower level of natural ability.

=dp

Awsome reel. 5 stars for sure.

It definitively shoes its better to have few awsome models than 10 so so.

Something I specially love is the live in the models, to pose.

The sea creature looks just like its about to move the next second.
Great!

man the work is amazing !

I’d like to know the path you did to arrive to the craction of these characters and the choices you make to do some anatomical parts than others.

thx in advance

see ya man and congrats again
good luck for finding a job :+1:
