Steps to crash or maybe not?

Create cube3D, hit T for edit mode, Append Cylinder. Activate edit transparency and polyframe, select Dots Display, Alt click on subtool. Crashes here… Anyone else? It happened on my Windows 7 Home Premium machine(custom UI & macros and stuff, oh my); as well as my partners iMac, fresh clean install, not customized.

Anyone else able to reproduce this?

If you have ‘Dots Display’ enabled, select your subtools from the SubTool list instead of ‘Alt+clicking’ on them and it will be fine.

So, you tried what I did and got a crash?

Yes, every time. Even without ‘Alt+clicking’, if you have ‘Dots Display’ active, clicking on the ‘Transp’ button will crash it also. Personally, I have never used and have no use for ‘Dots Display’. It seems like a useless feature so it doesn’t really bother me. However, it shoild be brought to the attention of Pixologic. I am sure that Marcus or aurick have probably read your thread already.

Already submitted ticket to support2 yesterday. Was trying to come up with a solution to another thread about visibility when moving/aligning subtools ;). Thanks for confirming. I have rarely used it but do find the feature to be useful.

Good! let us know how you make out.

Did you also submit a ticket?

No! Like I said before, I don’t use it, it doesn’t bother me. I just thought that other people that read this thread might be using it and that it would be nice if you you posted any conclusions that support offered. I am sure that Pixologic Support does not want to be inundated with the same complaint.

You didn’t need to quote me, you also posted in that other thread. And no, they probably don’t want 10,000 support tickets. The last I heard back from them was that they “couldn’t reproduce the problem”. They thought it may have been stuff I added to folders etc. here. The iMac has a clean install of the latest version. Guess we’ll have to wait for further word from them.

Official word back, they were able to reproduce the issue with Dots and have it in their list of things to do.
