Hi.

Still learning ZBrush bit by bit but I’ve come across a problem with the stencil, quite a biggie as well 'cause it won’t switch on. I’ve followed the stuff posted on the Wiki but it just won’t activate.

I’m drawing a sphere on the screen, making sure it’s a polymesh, going into edit mode, and then trying to activate the stencil by clicking the button but nothing happens. BTW, I’m using Vista32 if that makes any difference (just in case there are known issues).

Expecting to look dumb any moment now, so any help appreciated :slight_smile:

Stencil On is to turn an already on Stencil off(as in hiding it). To use a stencil from a alpha you need to hit Make St in the alpha palette

I think I’d better setup my own layout configuration because it feels like the Stencil, Alpha, and Alpha Select options need to be grouped together more. When I read about the Alpha palette I thought they mean’t the Alpha palette where you select an Alpha (I forgot about the other one) - duh!
