I don’t know how to use all of its features but see the amazing creations other artists are producing using only ZBrush. I’m certain most can and will agree that ZBrush is awesome as it is. Take your time with 4R7.
another day
Maybe tomorrow.
they are waiting on income taxes
On the last day of January! That’s what they meant?
Yes, it’s my first post here but I can’t help saying…most of the comments about the delay reminds me of the 'Stockholm Syndrome". Quite frankly…I bought 4R6 and am slowly learning it’s nuances based on the fact that it was getting upgraded to 4R7 within a short time of my 4R6 purchase. It’s been months and put off once, probably be put out this weekend…but why all the love to the people who are holding us all hostage? Go ahead, call me a troll which seems to happen when people speak their mind, but me, I’m tired of the wait and the as of yet, empty promise.
Well if this is still going to be released in january, I would say 29 is best candidate (first day of the 3d printing expo, I guess it would make sense) but if not the 29 then I doubt it still releasing in january.
I reckon they got bought out by Daz. Therefore a Daz soon for release is now in place.small_orange_diamond
small_orange_diamond:D;)
It could’ve been worse, it could’ve been bought by autodesk…
the final day for JANUARY IS 31, if the GEM is OK will be released if not we have to be patience and wait the needed time. If you post 100000 post that would not release the ZB4R7 right now:D, is easy to understand? hope, yes! stay calm and relax.Think this marvelous tools in our hands, just be patients my friends dont be rush.
Look at these prices,
https://www.keyshot.com/buy/
Key shot cost more than most autodesk software, and all it does is render…I see why some people feel like the bridge should be free…I wonder if people who spent 2000 to 3000 on it will still have to buy the bridge
Yeah, plus there is Blender with its Cycles, which is a little bit slower, but far more flexible, has more features, renders both in CPU and GPU mode and improves with every new version. And oops, it is totally free
Not starting a holywar, just putting it here

I was hoping they teamed up with blender. Key shot model, “pay us tons of money for software that is easy to use”. Pixologic is known for the opposite.
I love your sketchbook. I see blender is in your work flow
I was hoping and thinking that it would be kind of cool if Zbrush would be released today, my Birthday - would be an awesome present!! there is still time to make things right Pixologic!! even secret early bird/birthday links - I’m cool with that!
Blizzard here thoroughly wrecked my schedule.
If it is at all possible to postpone or delay the release until the middle of next week ( Thursday, Friday)
it would be of enormous help.
Whatever you can do…
Thank you.
This thread currently has 134542 views, I say we waste more time, seriously exert ourselves, and get it pushed up into the ZBC Most Popular section. All we need is a half a million views.
I know we can do it, I would love to see it happen before the release. I mean seriously, we obviously have nothing better to do and might as well turn all this anticipation into a serious project.
hehehe!!!
Delay the release so you can get it next week? Seriously? I know you must be joking. If it is released sooner you can still get it when you get over your Blizzard function…but to ask for it to be delayed until then…hard to reply to this request…I mean I am dumbfounded. But then again I might have misinterpreted your request.
But Pixo…please do not delay the release because someone will be busy on that day…I mean the rest of us might NOT be busy and would love to get it as soon as you are ready to release it.
Sorry bicc39. Nothing personal.
The Faster it gets released, the more people use it and show off its power! - also = more sales! So far only teachers get the copy since its already being taught on Digital Tutors website… what’s up with that? we know it’s already working… I think the delayed time is more so given to prep the teachers and advertisements/Pixologic videos than “polishing it” but I guess that has to be the way? It seems like everyone must become certified perhaps if they want a copy first otherwise why only give it out to a selected few to teach it? seems a bit biased unless they are the best instructors in the industry and want everyone to learn top down. Just a bit frustrated, I have work to do with it and seeing others have it and show it off is an extreme tease. New content by 4R7 keeps getting added to the forums but I think everyone should be doing that not just a select few.
Update: I have seen another post on here that stated that 4R7 was being taught on Digital tutors and when I saw the Zbrush Keyshot lesson I automatically assumed it was with 4R7 and the bridge - this is not the case… it’s working together with obj’s I still have a bit of an issue with non Pixologic staff getting the program and posting renders rather than full lessons… I mean yes it’s awesome what “you” can do with with it but let others work with it and become the artist too…
I cant seem to find 4R7 lessons on Digital Tutors website I have a subscription but I still cant find any lessons on 4R7
Hi Vir, I’m with you. If you want to start a holy war then don’t hold back, lets start ringing the bell for Blender and Cycles as it is clearly the better option for rendering Zbrush work if your project involves any animation or incorporating your Zbrush output into a full 3D scene.
The point being Cycles is fxxxing awesome as a standalone renderer, even without considering the more important issue that it is the renderer of a main kick ass 3D application that is also a fully featured animation and 3D design package.
Logically to me Cycles has to be a best choice for anyone who needs to also animate their Zbrush work as it costs literally nothing and is a dream to download and install and configure. If you have a few workstations - so easy to use Blender’s network rendering functionality to build your own render farm. And Blender to Zbrush workflow both ways using GoB is superb and works instantly with no lag.
Sure Keyshot is lovely and all that and many people may want to have high quality “concept” renders with “no work” for client approval reasons (seriously what does “no work” even mean - getting a good result always involves time and and thought and tweaking), however if you need to bring your model into an application, incorporate it in a scene, rig it, light it, and animate it then good luck with Keyshot for any serious pipeline workflow. Maya and Max are both great options, they just cost a ton of money, and neither of those has the edge. Blender and Cycles are just as good and don’t cost any money.
So personally I think the much more important issue is about Zbrush becoming 64 bit and more stable. Ie. Less buggy and less crashes (32 bit Zbrush crashes continuously through your working session).
So I don’t care about Keyshot. Unless you can use it as a production tool in real animation work then I’d always want instead to be putting my Zbrush model into the final renderer I’m going to actually use in production instead. What’s the point in doing really beautiful interim Keyshot renderers if that render quality then can’t also be used in an animation project? I care much more about the new Zbrush being 64 bit and being stable and about the new low poly modelling tools than I do about Zbrush’s rendering path to Keyshot.
So - as long as Pixologic doesn’t scupper the GOB pipeline to Blender for some obscure back-end corporate reason then Cycles and Blender definitely gives the artist everything they might need and it doesn’t cost a penny. Zbrush and Blender / Cycles, that’s an incredibly powerful combination. Cycles is also in most cases extremely fast. It also updates in real time on your system (like Vray RT or Keyshot does - just better because it is completely free and is a fully realistic practically based renderer.
Every Zbrush artist should download a copy of Blender and GoB and just have Blender sitting on your system. You’ll be amazed at how much you end up using it - and just how good it is!
