Hi all, my first post on the new ZBC!!! Thought id share some of my statue and 3d printing work to kick off

Evil Lighthouse keeper cast and print by Grim - paints by Peter Bell

WOW @James_Cain !!! The detail quality you’re able to achieve from your 3D print output is very good! Translates amazingly

The unknown soldier looks and “feel” like patina bronze

Thank you Jaime!!! Its probably one of the most fulfilling things getting work into print for me. Some sculpts work better than others - for example we had to print the Conquistador several times with adjustments to get the details just right so they would come out in the cast. The form 2 is great with details but you still lose a little in translation so finding that right balance of depth in Zbrush is key. Cold casting is amazing and highly recommended, next best thing to the time and expense of real metal without the cost

Its so wonderful to see that you can directly see just by the way you sculpt that you have done it @James_Cain buddy Very inspiring and seeing those 3dprints motivates me actually to safe up as fast as possible to get a printer a play around. The difference look of each print and finish is just astonishing.

@KC-Production Thanks Kenny, yep, investing in a printer is great, its definitely a good way to learn although you are throwing yourself in the deep end a little. I think there’s enough tutorials and support out there now for it to be a more viable option than it has been in the past though. We will be at the summit again for sure, so we’ll definitely catch up there

Great stuff, indeed! I bought a casting of the evil lighthouse keeper and in addition to the obvious strength (and coolness) of the design and sculpture, I can tell you that the casting quality is beautiful as well. Solid production, all around. I look forward to picking up more resin goodies from ya.
