Starting Modeling Again, advice on where to start with Hard Surfaces via Zbrush

hey all,

I have been modeling for quite a long time over 8 years in fact but the last 2 years I had stopped and got to buzy. I was looking at some tutorials on the new dynamesh and its subtract method, You can get high detailed hard surfaces in no time. What I am trying too do is create a model train carriage mostly in zbrush but with the basic meshes from maya like on one of the video tutorials.

This is the carriage I am wanting to make .

Would I still be better off using my other programs over zbrush, I want to start too build my majority of things in zbrush for my 3d printer.

Thank you.

The tutorials on Military Character Assets with Joseph Drustis a good start if you havn’t seen them yet.

I have had a look at them and tried a few things with it. I have made it so that the windows and doors are cut out and looking good but was wondering about the window frames and glass, how would I go about that?

Also check out the Spiderbot tutorials here: http://www.badking.com.au/site/page/3/

Definitely helping me to get started with hard surface modelling.

Great website too with some high quality and free IMs.
