Start up Interface Questions.- Answered.

Hello all,
I am brand new to Zbrush and this website,

I started watching the Zclass tutorials but im having a little bit of a problem the further i go, because some of tool bars and interface seem to be a little different.
I’m using Zbrush 4.0 and ive hit the initialize zbrush under preferences and it keeps my interface looking different.

Ive uploaded some pictures to show the differences im experiencing and i hope some 1 could help me out on getting my interface to match up with the Zclassrooms

My interface:

Much thanks,

Stosh

The video you are watching is for ZBrush 3.5 which is why you are seeing some differences. Also your screen size is very small which is why the UI proportions appear different.

oh alright thank you very much,

i guess ill just do my best to try to keep following along.

i thought it was a possibility the Zclassroom was using a earlier version ><

EDIT:
But im still curious why my one bar on the right is missing a few more items than the zclassrooms. I cant make out what exactly they are from the video but, its kinda bothering me and i feel like ill definitely need those 1 day haha, any idea what they are?

I changed my screen resolution, im not liking it, but it did give me this half an extra button… but serioulsy i cant scroll that toolbar at all to get further down:

You are missing the Transparency, Ghost, Solo and Xpose buttons. They are all available in the Transform palette (or in the case of Ghost in the Preferences>Draw menu). But you will perhaps find this smaller UI config useful :
Smaller UI for small screens

The recommended screen res for ZBrush 4 is 1280x1024, the absolute minimum 1024x768.

It’s your actual computer’s screen resolution. Hopefully your monitor and video card will support a larger res.

hey marcus, i installed that custom UI and it moved everything down like seriously half a centimeter, it didnt make a difference :frowning:

and i also changed my resolutions to higher but i still can only get half of that next button to show up. eh, i also played with the resolutions after I added the custom UI, none really appear to work,

and plus im using dual monitors (cloned) and the 1 going from VGA to like RCA default TV input has to be stuck at this **** low resolution for it to work. My actual monitor is a Tv and its plugged into HDMI. only resolution besides my current 1024x768 that seems to work only for the HDMI input seems to be 1360x768. ughh

I was wondering if you were working on a TV. I’ve tried zbrush on them before, and it’s never been a great experience.

At least you can still access everything you need from the top menus.
