Star Messi and -----Dinosaurs! (WIP)

Really appreciate to all Zbrushers for your kind support! And I have to apologize for not continuing Kobe----I was distracted by the other topic —Dinosaurus. Before starting that I created one more athlete —Lionel Messi, for sharing some process for drawing a portrait and also training myself for facing more challenge in the future.Hope it would be useful.

I did some lighting adjust in the next two images, try to make him more silm…But obvious my render skill is not good enough to represent the best result…

Here are some screenshoots with only AOmap, I will use them to depict to my steps since I don’t reckon that I can put pics here(maybe there is some kind of copyright, etc).

great work as usual!!! :+1:

To Eidan: Thanks! I’m glad that you like it!
The frist image show the level1 of this model, this step is very important since it shows both anatomy knowledge and likeness. Usually I will try my best to creat a convinced head and reduce flaws especially on anatomy then I can focus on likeness.
In the level 2, as you see, everything has almost be done.Even without level3—6(for the wrinkle or pore), people can still figure out who it is and they can also tell how professional this work is.

Everything look amazing except for the hair. I think it look out of context! Amazing render and sculpting though.

I know this might sound lame, but would you mind sharing your rendering setup with us. I think your renders rather look fascinating.

This is really great. the only thing affecting me is the hair… but i mean the likeness is really fantastic…

awesome work… :+1:

To Eiad and dagoned: Thanks for your kind word! I don’t spend too much time on hair, I only did some rough sculpture on the hair, only tried to make the whole image looking a little complete. Still, thanks for your remind!
To basantjoshi: Thank you, friend!

The next two images show some important areas of head to create a convinced model. In fact, those areas should be finished around level1–2, I used higer level models to depict this process only for making them look attractive.

The next images shows the important role the cheek plays.
I also took some pics of my resin skull model to describe it.
Many thanks for your support, hope it would be useful.

Great tips! Thanks! I would still love to know your process for creating AO maps.

Thats great work. Wish I had your eye for the details.

Cheers

Awesome tips for likeness. Thanks!

HI
awesome work
thanks for tips

cheers

Cool ! Thanks … :+1:

Some great work. The Kobe render was superb. The only thing I would critique is that the skin on both models appears a little plastic and dry, which is quite evident on the ears.

Also this new characters looks quite similar to your Kobe model. It seems the same model was re-used and the low resoltuion was just tweaked to change the shape. Perhaps he needs a little more low frequency changes. And maybe a little more depth to the skin scatter.

Super model and great tips. Also your previous celebrity models are awesome, great likeness.

impressive work! I dont know all of them, but tommy lee jones, robert patrick and guy from the movie about underground mutants are recognizable!:+1:

Awesome! thanks for sharing!
