excellent sculpt and render!
I am amazed at how good the micro details are, very good choices there…If I had a crit or advice to give it would be about the beard, seems to lack direction in the way the hair grows but a appart from that everything super well executed.
Amazing work!
looks greta, but make teh backgrond black, now !!! That white one makes it look really ugly ;]
Anyway, the skin detail is amazing, very realistic ;]
nice work man render is very clean n awesome texture.
every thing is good but eye part is looking quite unreal.anyways nice work.
Hey thanks a lot for the nice comments!!!
gloomingshade: you could have a point about the beard or maybe I posted a too big render;)
slocik: Haha if the almost white background is so annoying to you I will change it for you:D…beside that CG Society won´t post it until it gets a background or something
Madhead: thanks for your opinion
cool! great likeness!!
nice work, but I would reduce freckles…
i know its hard to do likeness!!! GREAT work…i’ve recognized him just looking the eyes at thumbnail
Beautiful piece, one of the best likeness that i eve seen.
Can you recommend a good tutorial about hair with splines?
The positive comments means so much!!! Especially that you can recognize him…he´s somewhat different today as the years have past:)
Dhyego: Thanks plus the words above…the full story about the splines is that I used a very old program for the combing and controlling the thickness of them…back when I bought it the name was Ornatrix and now it´s called HairFx. Finaly I converted the Splines to geometry for the rendering part…hope it helped a little;)
Had some suggestions about changing the background color, and I made a neutral dark background. Rendered the hair again so there wouldn´t be any problems against the new background…hope you like:)
Of course you helped.
Thanks for the attention. Another good thing about your likeness, is that you can recognize it even from very far.
Just by looking at the thumbnail you can say that he is the Stallone.
Very good! But Sly has a little more “sneer” to the upper lips, a slight more fullness there. 5 stars, though.
Dhyego: Thanks and glad it was helpful
EricShawn: I tend to agree but I think it was less in his younger days…good observation and critique…and thanks for the rating
The model looks good. Maybe make his cheecks more hollow or gaunt. I’m not so sure on the sss material. Its too waxy and isn’t doing the model any justice.
brettSinclair: Thanks for the comments. I agree that the sss2 with my settings eats much of the model but you will always loose something…hhhmmm I still think I like the shader look - if I let the diffuse texture part take more over it gets the “chalk” dead look in my opinion - It was my first go with the shader and I will remember your opinion / advise
